Fossil Lane Project

Our team totally re-designed and re-constructed this San Antonio home to reflect the young and vibrant lifestyle of the family who lives there. We began by reconfiguring the kitchen, wine library, living room and dining room spaces. Non-structural headers were removed and doorways expanded to allow for the eye to travel through all three spaces, creating one cohesive living space.

Next, we reconfigured the awkward kitchen layout to incorporate the seating area into the new counter-height island, which visually opens and expands the space and makes it appear much larger. We designed custom kitchen cabinetry and worked to make the space both beautiful and functional for the busy family, but the brass-studded range hood is the real star of the show!

Next, we tackled defining the adjoining space between the kitchen and the formal dining room, ultimately turning it into a wine library. We began by designing custom cabinetry for the 11' tall ceilings that incorporated bookshelves, a tall wine column that houses over 150 bottles of wine, and additional enclosed storage for the family's barware, school supplies and even small kitchen appliances.

Then, we turned our attention to updating the bathrooms, looking to fresh color schemes, patterned tile, custom details, and one-of-a-kind accessories to tie the spaces into the aesthetic of the rest of the home.
